Ok…so I hit the road at 5:30am, pick up Randy and we head south to Frenchmans Bar Park in Vancouver,Wa for Zaandercross presented by Tireless Velo.  This race is another in the Gran Prix Tina Brubaker series in the greater Portland area. Upon arrival we quickly get registered and decide to do some course recon right after the beginner race ends.  First impressions…Wow! This is gonna be effin hard today.  This course was legit.  Bike handling, running (sand, sand, sand), strength, and fitness were all needed to succeed today.  I towed the start line at 11:20am and was sure to tail gun the back again due to no points in the series.  Whistle goes off and it’s a fight to the front.  A few bottlenecks occur, but eventually  the race sorts itself out after a lap.  Let me tell you…sand that is ankle deep sucks!  Multiply that by 5 laps and 3 sections equals tired ass legs. I eventually settle in and finish mid pack.  Could be better, but it was fun times none the less.  I change get cleaned up and now have to wait for Randy till his race at 3:15. Long story short.  Randy starts his race in the 9 spot coming out of beach sector 1 and just needles away till the last 1/2 lap to place himself in the 2 spot!  Bravo!  Bravo!  Seattle represented!  This race should be on your list of to do’s next year. Super organization, wonderful course and great competition.
